It's funny, I was thinking of passing on the MMM this year because I'm just getting back into sewing after an aeon away from seriously sewing any garments. And then I realized that I am usually wearing something I've sewn. Since I had a small wardrobe to start with, I rely heavily on my "me-mades" as standard wardrobe pieces. I definitely have more "cake" than "frosting" projects so far.
As I grow my sewing skills, I hope to be able to make a good portion of my wardrobe. I know there are things that I may not be able to, or just won't want to make. It does give me a sense of gratification that I can or could make something that I need or want instead of trying to find something that sorta maybe not quite works in a retail store.
